What’s New with Your Hummer EV this week? 🛠️

Oh…and not sure if this counts, but did a little Egging with my Hummer…

Installed the factory GM Hummer EV Mud Flaps over the weekend. Now, just need to find some rain to really test them out!

Tell us about your modifications, upgrades, repairs and customizations!
Don’t buy a Hummer EV, Lease only. Expensive to repair and they have lots of shit wrong with them and GM won’t help. 130k new and is worth half that in a year or so. GM technician quit after too many failed fixes from corporate. Additionally, go to cadillac for repair. Better service and experience. They are all certified GMC.

The used market is holding up better than I expected. I looked up my 2025 2X and could sell it to Carvana for about $10K less than I paid 14 months ago, even with 10,000 miles on it now. (This is including the $7500 tax credit I received)

Totally worth it to drive this beast!

I order and plugged in a SanDisk Ultra Fit 256 GB USB 3.2 flash drive. The built-in surround vision dashcam is simply amazing! I had to pay Mercedes $200 to enable a USB dashcam and it only recorded the front camera. I now have evidence of what's going on behind and to the side of me too. They really should advertise this feature more IMHO. I know a lot of people hack apart their new car just to get front and back dashcams working, I have FOUR dashcams recording simultaneously for FREE. ‼️

Gosh, I didn't know you guys were deprived of dashcam goodness. In that case let me add a 😛

Well I can't do anything about all the @#$%holes who drive white trucks here in Texas but there's this lawyer guy on TV called "The Hammer" who say he can get me a bazillion dollars if all those cement and gravel trucks on I45 keep giving me trouble. I told him I'd be willing to settle for half a bazillion.

Preview of next week for you:

I think this dry one in my kitchen pantry is right for an EV fire... though if there's "thermal runaway" I'm gonna run away too. ;)

Yep, one of the first things I purchased!!

Maybe I need a Hummer EV support group instead of a forum... but but that lower aero grill is made of plastic and when it's open rocks shoot straight at my radiator.. and and what good are blue fog lights when everyone knows that's the wrong end of the spectrum for fog... 😭

Where did you get those from?

Everything is coming from ebay. Quite frankly, I find it easier to order directly from GM via eBay rather than through the gmparts website or myGMC. GMparts keeps making me do impossible security stuff and myGMC won't let you order parts it doesn't think work on your vehicle, even though its wrong.

Anywhosies... the plastic part of fire extinguisher bracket was clearly made for a roll bar so I modded the kit a little. Bent the metal bracket, flipped it upside down and secured the two pieces together with lock washers. The bolts that hold the seat rail down had red locktite on them so I'd highly recommend a breaker bar unless you want to bust your knuckles.

I bent it too far the first time. Just needed a little. Ooops!
firemod2.webp

Red locktite makes this a real knuckle buster without a breaker bar.
firemod3.webp

The required T50 was not included.
firemod4.webp

Harbor Freight steel ain't from Pittsburgh! Breaker bar.

I didn't want some bubble gum chewing bimbo to pull the pin so mounted it this way.

Still hanging in the air a bit. Needs a little more tweaking.

I don't want to link to auction because I'm sure it'll expire soon but I just gave some guy I've never met before almost a grand for Carbon Fiber Look (TM) stuff called encar88_8. What could possibly go wrong?

I'm sure it'll be fine. I just doing the interior strips: four for doors, two on sides of center console and one on passenger dash. Exterior just did mirrors, door cups, upper c-pillar and tow plug cover. Plus a carbon fiber cover for seat buttons in cargo area. I don't want it to look too, er, uh, you know, like blue or red carbon fiber the whole center console and air vents kind of "fabulous". No rhinestones either, though they are popular here in Texas. :) I'm trying to keep it tasteful.

I wasn't happy with GMCs packages so I'm making up my own. I'm gonna call it the "not-so-extreme off-road package". Same as the extreme one but you can still park in the garage. Step 1 is:
2024-2025 Hummer EV SUV Underbody Skid Shield Package 86782342 OEM GM

Then replace the running boards with rock sliders and violas (or sumptin' frenchy like dat).

I think you're onto something!

I might start with the rock sliders actually since I'm sure they come with all the bolts I need and they're not as heavy as those big metal plates:

OEM black carpet inserts, aftermarket cup holder replacement and tomorrow this shows up:

I'm sure this'll come as SHOCKING NEWS to the guys at GM who are planning on putting in a third row and turning the Hummer SUV into a minivan but I'd remove the rear seats if I could. They'll probably stay down 99% of the time. They're useless.

EDIT: Also arriving today is this

I call this the "carbon lite package". Just like the 1000 horsepower special edition that costs a million bucks but I'll save have a million in depreciation. :p

That’s a solid seller, also check out “carworld66” I’ve purchased plenty of carbon fiber parts from that seller as well. I currently have purchased every carbon fiber parts available from a combo of eBay, Amazon and GM
