What’s New with Your Hummer EV this week? 🛠️

Speaking of tires in the "other" thread... i didn't like the spare tire kit that came with my hummer. So I put in a half inch breaker bar with a deep 7/8 inch hex socket and just got a new handle for the jack too so I can toss the useless one that came with it.

I replaced the rubber mat inserts with carpet then decided, why stop there? Fuzzy wuzziness all the way around!

Tailgate cover is made of same pre-cut fabric off of ebay. Its from a new seller I've never seen before but so far everything lines up. Just needed to replace some of the tape that came with it. This Scotch stuff works much better. Should also absorb high-end distortion from audio system and reduce road noise. :)

This is the magic tape the chinese guys use to permanently attach "carbon fiber look (TM)" pieces. It's the "red tape" you peel off, though that's not actually the sticky part, but anywho..

I was thinking of sticking a solar panel or two on mine with it.

The aluminum trailer power cover needed some carbon fiber to protect it... and of course those buttons in the back that make the seats fold down are a hazard that must be covered with carbon fiber, obviously.

Been giving myself a crash course in PPF installation before attempting the headlight protection. The pre-cut pieces came with a perfectly sized squeegee, thicker on one side than other like fog lights, which was a really nice plus. Have my secret slip solution (Dawn dish washing liquid and 80% water) and advanced formula tack solution (10% alcohol and 90% water) ready to go.

Anywhosies, made an oopsie with the Carbon Fiber Look (TM) pieces though. Apparently you truck guys get an additional emblem on the dash that us lowly SUVers don't have. Oh well, the other four for door panel and two for center console should work out fine anyways.

No more carbon after these.. 'nuffs, 'nuff!

Everything is coming from ebay. Quite frankly, I find it easier to order directly from GM via eBay rather than through the gmparts website or myGMC. GMparts keeps making me do impossible security stuff and myGMC won't let you order parts it doesn't think work on your vehicle, even though its wrong.
This is what I have been running into, I am currently trying to figure out if the MOLLE racks for the inside of the bed listed on GMC's accessory page will work on the SUT. It looks like it should, however I found out the hard way after ordering one and then having to ship it back, that the Silverado's under-seat lock box doesn't fit our trucks as well.

No, that cutout is for the “edition 1” vehicles. Unfortunately all of those pieces regardless if it was chrome or carbon fiber came with that flaw.

You definitely have some creativity, just come up with a logo or emblem that will cover up that area.

That explains why some of the SUVs have it too, guess they're first editions. Been trying to find just that piece on ebay but looks like I'll have to buy that whole section of dash out of a scrap yard if I really want it.

That's one reason I like these boards... someone else gets to be the guinea pig. I hate being the first guy to figure out it ain't gonna work.

EDIT: Hood Bra, so my Hummer doesn't sag.

I just cant get this stuff to stick. They make spray adhesive but I don't want to make it permanent. Maybe velcro or a temporary adhesive like Aleene’s Repositionable Tacky Spray (what I'm trying next).

And I'm sorry Uncle Warren, I did it again. I sold my Graniteshares and when it pulled back bought more Proshares (I like those guys) with Graniteshare's money. 😊

I find a way to add my company Logo to evey vehicle I ever enjoyed. Usually its a custom chrome grill or emblems... This was my first time going with Vinyl. Gonna purchase a wheel cover & add one more.

What's the yeti thing on the bumper?

I order and plugged in a SanDisk Ultra Fit 256 GB USB 3.2 flash drive. The built-in surround vision dashcam is simply amazing! I had to pay Mercedes $200 to enable a USB dashcam and it only recorded the front camera. I now have evidence of what's going on behind and to the side of me too. They really should advertise this feature more IMHO. I know a lot of people hack apart their new car just to get front and back dashcams working, I have FOUR dashcams recording simultaneously for FREE. ‼️
The oinkers removed the flash drive without properly ejecting it then deleted files/evidence on the corrupted drive. Then they messed up my new tire change kit too by stealing a deep socket and swapping out a breaker bar with one in my garage that they also broke into.

I think I got the drive and my tire change kit repaired anyways. Now I have to take the Hummer to a body shop to get the rest of their damage fixed.

God bless 'Merca! :poop:

Luckily I still had the original Microsloth Wintendo on a separate drive on my lappy so was able to repair the exFAT parition and didn't have to reformat it FAT32. The dashcam is working again. It creates MP4 files for front, left, right and rear cameras simultaneously which is really nice. Most people don't know this but when you delete a file from a FAT partition all that really happens is the first letter of the filename is deleted. Restore that one letter and you get the whole file back. Any hex disk editor works.

I installed the "first edition" piece upside down so the hole is half hidden by the infotainment screen, by the way. Looks fine that way. Got a few more interior carbon fiber pieces coming but I think the honeymoon is over at this point. I'm done modding.
