Engineers from General Motors recently took two preproduction EVs on a 5,000-mile road trip across the U.S. to gather real-world driving data and better understand how their electric vehicles perform outside the lab. Along the way, the team openly discussed the challenges they encountered, including efficiency, range, and charging behavior, and identified the root causes of issues that might frustrate everyday EV drivers. Their goal with the exercise was to learn from actual usage and apply those insights to improve future GM EVs.
