Good afternoon everyone, my name is Alex, and I recently sold my Tesla model Y Performance, and I’m contemplating on getting a hummer EV 2024 2X with 5000 miles. The price is 70k plus taxes, which I think is a good price based on all the search I did. My question to you since you guys own a hummer EV for a while, is what are the things that I should know before I buy this car. If you asked me the same about the Tesla model Y, I will tell you that is a terrific car very reliable, but the mileage that they tell you the car will do with a full battery, it’s a lie, they paint quality on the car is garbage, and the insurance is extremely expensive compared with other EV cars. What I’m trying to get from you is what you like and what you don’t like so I can make my decision if this hummer EV truck will be a good fit for me. I totally love the look of hummers and I definitely need an electric one. That is the reason I’m considering this car as an option. Any advisor suggestion will be greatly appreciated. Happy new year to all of you my friends!

I was like you, I bought a pre owned Hummer to save a lot of money. Smart move. My car insurance company said it was less expensive to insure the 3X than the 2X. When buying pre owned cars you can’t be as particular about the color. I got the Aurora Metallic paint because I read that matte finishes scratch easily. I love all the metal flake in the paint. The Hummer is probably the least efficient EV on the road today. It’s more efficient driving in the city than on the highway when using regeneration. If charging at home is not an option, it will not be cost effective to charge at public charging stations because the battery is so large. I have the transparent roof panels and love them. I did buy aftermarket sunshades for use in hot summer months (Texas). I Love the HUMMER SUV. It rides smooth, has lots of power and has great interior space. If you plan to garage park at home, you’ll probably want a double wide garage door. I only have a couple inches of clearance on each side of my single car size garage door opening.

Just bought my 2022 Hummer EV 3x Edition 1 pickup last week....8000 miles, $57000 . Was driving a 2022 Ram 1500 Limited...cant say anything bad about that truck but 16mpg. Never thought I would see myself in an electric vehicle but this Hummer is perfect for my commute . Im retired so I dont drive much but I find a reason to drive unnecessarily with this Hummer. I joined some off peak charging program with my electric company and I pay 2 cents a KwH for charging at home between the hours of 10pm and 6am....( about $4.50 to charge the battery full from 0 to 100% ). Im 6'7" an was ecstatic that I had the headroom and legroom . I test drove it to my house, backed it into the single bay garage door and knew right then that I was going to buy it. Love it !

I have a 2025 and have owned it for about 14 months. It’s had a couple of minor issues, but my dealership has provided some of the best service you could ask for. It’s an absolute beast, gets compliments everywhere I go, rides great, and has plenty of room for the family.

The range has been great. I usually just plug it in once a week and let it charge overnight. The biggest downside is the depreciation, which is pretty rough (though I knew that going in, so it doesn’t really bother me). I probably won’t keep it past the warranty, but overall I’ve been really happy with it.

I also transferred form a Tesla (2 Model S in a row over the last 7 years). MAN this thing is fun. I have had no real issues, it is not perfect, neither is the Tesla or other arts we own. REALLY big battery, so the range is about equal to my P100D. No regrets, Bought mine used from the dealer with 3k miles on it. Functionally it is a great ca, although much wider that a Model Y, but the fun factor is much higher. I know that sounds funny knowing how fast the Teslas are - but it is WAY more fun for me.
Some folks have some issues (as found on any forum for any car), but overall I have no regrets. Oh, since the battery is 2x as large as the Tesla, it takes 2x as long to charge…. Good luck with your decision, enjoy the process and let us know what you decide!
