Got a 30 minute intro drive with the dealer. Everything working great. Left for home and 50 miles in super cruise stopped working in I-95 in New Jersey. Seems to be a software issue -- anyone else experience this?

Earliest appointment is Sep 4th -- not real happy as I was planning a very long road trip which I now have to put on hold.

Also, do these vehicles come with the full owners manual or just the small manual?

My Supercruise quit working as well. Dealer did an update a hard reset and still wouldn't work. They ordered a new module to replace it.

They have an owners manual on the GM app

Update,

Driving back through same section of most Northern section of i-95 in NJ in other direction and same thing, no super cruise. Got a bit further south and it began to work again. Worked 98% of the rest of the way to southern Florida.

Seems like certain sections just don't work.

Also supercruise doesn't like a changing lanes over double white dashed lines like found when going into or out of express or hov lanes. Also turns off on toll plaza, even high speed ezpass plasas.

Driving on 95 and 85 South through Maryland, VA and NC - super cruise cut out multiple times with an error message about not having information on the roads??

Super cruise only works on the mapped roads. It's weird how it has mapped only sections on major highways. Does anyone know if they are actively adding more sections?

If your look at GMs supercruise maps, these areas are all listed as covered.

Day #4 of owning mine, supercruise wouldn't work on I - 65. I hit the onstar button and got an advisor, but they could not hear me. I tried that twice more with the same result. I called onstar with my phone and told the advisor of both issues. He had me pull off the road and park, then reset the vehicle. Onstar worked like a champ after that. So did supercruise.

How did he have you reset?

I am having the same issue. It worked for weeks then wouldn't work on I-95 in Florida but later worked on the turnpike. However, the next day it wouldn't work anywhere on the trip.

Super cruise's lack of reliability is a real issue with all the GM vehicles which have it. Not everyone cares to use this technology but for those who bought their vehicles because of this feature, GM's lack of ability to rectify these issues shows a complete lack of appreciation of their customer base.

Not that I would be caught dead driving that rolling trash can, but Tesla's technology is years ahead of GMs. I did test drive a Tesla automobile before getting my Hummer. I was impressed with their tech but just couldn't bear spending any money that would enrich Musk. I secretly hoped that my Super Cruise experience on the highway would at least rival that of the Tesla. Needless to say I am disappointed in what we've got to date.

About 7 or so years ago, my brother leased a Cadillac that boasted Super Cruise. He leased the vehicle for only two years assuming that the technology on newer vehicles would improve enough that he didn't want to be stuck with an older generation of tech that couldn't be upgraded. He got this car specifically to drive from Daytona Beach FL to Miami FL several times a year and not once did the tech work on the entire trip. After about a year of complaining the dealer said that GM insisted that his entire steering wheel assembly be replaced as it was the culprit. It took GM 4 months to come up with a steering wheel, all the while he was making lease payments on the vehicle. After the replacement it didn't work any better. He was glad to get rid of the vehicle and today drives a Tesla automobile which takes him everywhere with nary an issue.

It would be nice if GM read these comments and put some real engineering muscle towards making their offering at least competitive with that of Tesla.
