Installed the unit in the link below. I have this on all of my vehicles. Works great and most I ran with the plug available without opening the hood.

I use dielectric grease on the exposed plugs

I didn't think I would need it as the HV battery should keep it charged but based on other post sometimes it doesn't

I was looking at installing a hood mount solar panel (the kind that glues to a vinyl pad) to keep the 12v battery charged. I figured it might also keep up with a small portable camp fridge.
